Can be set for automatic or manual inflation depending on conditions. This feature does work as it is supposed to. After months of use, not one single "false alarm" inflation. I would highly recommend this product to anyone in the market of an automatic (and manual) life vest. It is comfortable and I forget it is even on. I like how this vest can be converted into a manual only vest. You just need to follow the directions. If you are looking for a comfortable (and cool looking) auto/manual life vest, get this one!
